Midwifery acupuncture. For 12 years midwives in New Zealand have
been using acupuncture and acupressure in their practices after completing a short
training course. Their support has led to acknowledgment from the Midwifery Council
and the College of Midwives and has provided Debra with the opportunity to offer
a hospital clinic with free pregnancy and postpartum care. Case histories will be
presented from this clinic and from midwifery practice, with a focus on the treatments
found to be the most effective.
Problem solving. Acupuncture treatment for problematic presentations
such as: gestational diabetes, twin pregnancies, polyhydramnios and premature labour.
There will be an emphasis on treating challenging clinical presentations - early
enrollers will have the opportunity to send Debra suggestions for clinical problems
they would like to see discussed in this part of the seminar
